Gift Of Love
Chapter 1: Planting the seed of love
Boom! The loud and deafening sound of thunder awaken me up from my daze in chemistry class. Luckily Miss Tan is still busy talking to herself with all the profound chemistry formulae.
As I stretched myself, I couldn’t help but noticed it’s raining rather heavily and my school bag is subjecting itself to the merciless pounding of the rain. Slowly but surely I made my way out of the lab via the back door, occasionally keeping a lookout that I won’t be spotted by Miss Tan. Alas the bag is completely drenched out, heck would I have known better, paying extra for a water proof bag might be a good idea after all. At this moment I noticed something protruding out from the side pocket. Gingerly I pull it out and it’s an old rusty bracelet. Was about to throw it into the wastepaper basket when it’s craving caught my eye.
“ You’re Mine “
Rainy day it may be,
Surprise me it may not.
Rusty thing lying on it’s side,
Amused me will it not ?
Chapter 2: Flashback to the past
Instant flashback to the day of my secondary one orientation. After a brief tour of the school, every students had to play some games to finish off the somehow boring school orientation. Had to be paired up with this gal from another class. Fiona was all she mumbled as she unhappily takes up her position besides me. All I could was of course muster up a big friendly smile but she paid no heed to my gesture. Nevertheless game is on and little would I realized what it will lead me into.
After a series of treasure hunt and some crappy games, the last game on the list is Hubby and wife. I was like eh ? What kind of stupid game is this ?
The girls will be the Hubby and the guys are the wives. Sheesh quite lame in my honest opinion. Somehow the girls seem to be enjoying this game, giggling and laughing heartedly as they attempt to snatch someone else’s hubby. While slowly slipping into daze mode, someone grabbed my hand and start pulling me along. Eh what the crap? Now is my turn to be dragged along. Somehow or another, Fiona kicked up quite a big fuss and start chasing after me. Hmm.. fancy being chased after, quite neat right? The feeling is quite nice indeed.
Thankfully Fiona didn’t let me down as she succeed in getting me back. Exhausted and panting away Fiona stared angrily at me and uttered two words,
“ You’re Mine “
Galloping away in the meadows,
Free as the birds in the sky.
Returning back to reality,
Simply with you in my arms.
Chapter 3 : The ending or so it may seems
Was it love at first sight or words at first sound? Sounds quite crappy but hey it’s my first crush in this new school. Somehow Fiona and myself got to know each other better after the games and we hang around together after school to finish up homework. After quite sometime, her best friend Diane pull me aside after we had our lunch. Did you know Fiona’s birthday is fast approaching? Diane whispered. Eh? How would I know since she never mentioned it. Stressed out man. What do you get for a girl on her birthday? Suddenly it hits upon me to observed Fiona when we go out as a group together and find out what she likes. One day we went to suntec to watch a movie and while doing some window browsing, Fiona was deeply engrossed in admiring something. Deeply curious and eager to find out her interests, I went over and look at the items displayed. Bracelets, lots and lots of bracelets. Finally I know what she likes but would be a wrong time to get one for her now.
Round as it may seem,
Flat as far it may go.
The only thing I had,
For that sparkle in your eyes.
Chapter 4: A Gift for her
Back in school, I show to Diane the gift I bought for Fiona but to my dismay Diane told me it’s too big for Fiona. Thankfully Diane had this bright idea to find out Fiona’s size. And I went to buy the suitable size and meanwhile engraved her name onto the bracelet. On the day of her birthday, I slip a note to Fiona asking her to meet me alone after school. During the rest of the day, I simply can’t focus on the lessons as my mind is anticipating the joy on her face when she received the gift from me later. Ring… The school bell rang to signal classes are over. As I slowly made my way to the designated meeting point, my heart somehow kept beating very fast and my palms are becoming wet with my sweat. Phew Fiona is already there waiting for me. That really saves a lot of time in my honest opinion. As I pass the gift to Fiona, that look of joy on her face is really priceless. Never had I been pleased with myself by giving a memorable gift to a girl. Well it’s quite worth all the trouble I took. At this moment, a thought came to my attention. Again mustering all my courage, I ask Fiona whether she would mind going out with me together. To my surprise she said let’s wait after O’s are finished.
Hooray, that means I have a chance. Really very happy indeed that day.
Laughters may filled the ears,
Tears may filled the eyes.
But nothing can stand between us,
As time goes passing by.
Chapter 5: Back to reality
Boom! The sound of thunder jolted me back to reality as I reminisced the things that happened for the past few months. As I look at the bracelet, many questions pop up in my mind. How long have this bracelet been placed in my bag? Was it recently? Whose does this bracelet belongs to? Fiona kept appearing in the answers I seek but it doesn’t seems right. She didn’t rejected me at all and yet she havn’t expressed anything lately. Could it be a hint? I really wonder. Someday I know I would know the answer but that have to wait till examinations are over.
Heading back to reality,
The past is forgiving.
All I can hope for now,
Is to be with you eternity.
